Nurse Case Manager

Are you an experienced nurse looking for a new direction, while still using your clinical knowledge every day?

We are currently recruiting for aNurse Case Manager position within the same medical assistance team, offering an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses to move away from the demands of a traditional clinical environment and into a varied, fast-paced role supporting patients both in the UK and overseas.

You’ll continue to use your nursing expertise on a daily basis, helping manage emergency medical assistance and repatriation cases, liaising with hospitals and clinicians internationally, supporting patients in stressful situations and acting as a clinical point of escalation on more complex cases.

There is also the opportunity to undertake flight nursing and medical repatriation assignments alongside the core case management role.

The role will involve:

• Managing emergency medical assistance and ongoing patient cases
• Supporting patients receiving treatment overseas
• Liaising with hospitals, clinicians and medical providers internationally
• Supporting medical repatriation cases
• Providing non-diagnostic clinical advice to patients and policyholders
• Reviewing medical information and identifying when cases require escalation
• Providing clinical input into occupational health and overseas deployment assessments
• Working closely with case coordinators and the wider medical assistance team
• Occasional flight nursing opportunities

What we’re looking for:

• Current NMC registration
• Registered General Nurse
• Minimum 3 years of recent clinical experience
• Experience at Band 5 level or above
• Crucially, at least 3 years of recent experience within an acute clinical department, such as A&E / Emergency Department, ICU, HDU, CCU or another comparable acute-care environment
• Strong clinical judgement and the ability to identify and escalate potentially serious medical issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence communicating with patients and clinicians over the telephone
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload while also contributing to a wider team

Experience within medical assistance, case management, repatriation, flight nursing, military nursing, travel health, cruise nursing, humanitarian/NGO work or overseas healthcare would be advantageous, although it is not essential.

Working arrangement:

The position will be fully office-based for at least the first three months to support training, development and integration into the team.

Following this initial period, the role moves to a hybrid working model with 60% office attendance.This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced acute-care nurse who wants to step away from traditional ward-based nursing without stepping away from their clinical expertise.

Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year
