Clinical Trial Assistant

Location: Swansea (Office-based)
Salary: £14.35 per hour (approx. £28,000 per annum - This is for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Trial Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and administration of clinical trials. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing clinical team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality research in a regulated environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring clinical trials are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and study protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and review of study documentation prior to trial commencement
  • Recruit and maintain communication with trial participants
  • Coordinate and manage participant appointments and schedules
  • Conduct informed consent processes with participants
  • Carry out protocol-based clinical activities (e.g. treatments, photography, measurements)
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into Case Report Forms (CRFs)
  • Monitor participant safety, reporting any adverse events or concerns
  • Maintain clinical supplies and inventory
  • Assist with development and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards

Key Requirements

  • 1–3 years’ experience in clinical research or a related field (preferred)
  • Understanding of GCP guidelines and clinical trial processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, proactive, and able to handle confidential information

Working Hours

Standard working hours will follow one of the below patterns:

Pattern 1
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (30-minute unpaid break)

Pattern 2
Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00 (30-minute unpaid break)
Friday, 08:30 – 12:00 (no break)

Pattern 3
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 (30-minute unpaid break)

Pattern 4
Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 16:30 (30-minute unpaid break)
Friday, 08:30 – 12:00 (no break)

During active clinical trials, you will be required to work a rotating shift pattern:

  • 07:00 – 15:00
  • 13:00 – 21:00
  • Option of 09:00 – 17:00
