Cannon Dynamics, a leading organisation within the Drone / UAV and UAS sector, is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to play a key role in a major long-term development programme.

Joining at the start of an exciting expansion, you'll have the opportunity to influence technical strategy, shape engineering processes, and drive development of UAV and UAS within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems engineering activities across the full product lifecycle.
  • Define system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and integration strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams and external suppliers.
  • Oversee system verification, validation, and compliance activities.
  • Support risk management, design reviews, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree qualified in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.
  • Strong background in aerospace, UAVs, or other safety-critical industries.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or similar.
  • Knowledge of system integration, architecture development, V&V, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with DO-178 and DO-254 standards.

Desirable:

  • MBSE/SysML experience.
  • Reliability, safety, or simulation/modelling expertise.
  • Project or supplier management qualifications.

Work Location: In person

Pay: £35,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
