Full job description

About Kinherit

Kinherit sits at the intersection of two things that are becoming increasingly hard for financial advisers to ignore: the estate planning gap in their advised client books, and the Consumer Duty framework that has reframed that gap as a live, evidenced foreseeable-harm problem.

We are a STEP Platinum Employer Partner and Consumer Duty Alliance Affiliate, partnering with over 4,000 IFAs across the UK - including six of the top 20 adviser networks. Every Kinherit plan is built by a STEP-qualified estate planner and completed through our sister company’s legal-tech platform - itself a fast-growth fintech with relationships across financial services and retail banking. That combination - STEP-qualified advice, regulatory-fluent positioning, and a differentiated technology backing - is why the network we work with continues to grow.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal hire. The commercial position we’ve built is not yet fully monetised. Within our existing 4,000-firm network there is enough headroom to grow revenue three-fold, and the addressable network beyond that is at least twice as large again.

Sitting on the Senior Management Team and reporting directly to the Managing Directors, the Head of Partner Relationships will own the partner channel end to end - performance, development and strategic direction.

You will inherit a team of five direct reports from day one, with a sixth currently being recruited and further growth planned as the business scales. There is a clear pathway to Director level for the right individual, with real equity upside through our EMI share option scheme.

In the early months, you will be expected to lead from the front: working alongside the team on partner calls and account activity to build credibility and develop a thorough understanding of the channel before driving strategic change. This role is for someone who can hit the ground running, assess what they have inherited, and begin making an impact with minimal hand-holding in the first 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, develop and performance manage a growing team of Relationship Managers, Business Support and Kinvault Support Specialists
  • Set clear objectives, monitor KPIs and hold the team accountable to commercial targets
  • Provide regular coaching, structured feedback and development support
  • Manage underperformance proactively, including use of PIPs and disciplinary processes where required
  • Recruit, onboard and retain talent as the channel grows

Sales & Commercial

  • Own the day-to-day sales pipeline structure and drive consistent execution across the team
  • Actively support the team on critical partner calls, high-value negotiations and new business pitches
  • Set, track and evaluate individual and team KPIs, ensuring targets are met or exceeded
  • Analyse sales data, forecast revenue and report directly to the Managing Directors
  • Lead from the front on cold outreach and new business activity where required

Partner Acquisition & Management

  • Identify, pitch and onboard IFA, wealth management and professional referral partners
  • Oversee the full introducer lifecycle from initial approach through to ongoing account management and retention
  • Manage complex, multi-stakeholder accounts where success depends on the partner’s ability to refer effectively
  • Resolve channel conflict and ensure pricing and brand consistency across direct and partner channels

Marketing & Enablement

  • Develop partner enablement kits, training assets and co-branded materials
  • Co-ordinate joint campaigns with partner marketing teams to drive end-consumer demand
  • Lead and execute marketing strategy across traditional, exhibition and digital channels

Strategy & Operations

  • Report on partner channel performance to the Managing Directors with clear insight and recommendations
  • Manage the partner channel budget
  • Oversee CRM integrity and data quality
  • Collaborate with compliance, operations and product teams to align partner activity with wider business delivery

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior partnership, account management or business development role, ideally within Financial Services
  • At least 3 years managing quota-carrying sales or relationship management teams
  • Proven experience coaching, developing and performance managing a team, including PIPs and disciplinary processes
  • Demonstrable experience recruiting, onboarding and retaining sales talent
  • Extensive knowledge of the IFA and wealth management market
  • Experience in cold outreach and new business development, not solely account management
  • A solid grasp of B2B2C sales strategy, pipeline management and revenue forecasting
  • Understanding of marketing strategy and execution across traditional, exhibition and digital channels
  • Working knowledge of Consumer Duty, FCA distribution rules and financial promotion requirements in an intermediary context
  • The ability to walk into a new role, build a 30/60/90 day plan, and execute with a high degree of autonomy

Desirable

  • Knowledge or direct experience in the Will-writing or estate planning sector
  • An existing network of IFA or wealth management contacts
  • Experience with PRM platforms or specialist channel management tools
  • Familiarity with SaaS or technology-enabled service environments
  • A formal management or leadership qualification (e.g. CMI Level 5 or equivalent)

Package

  • £45-60,000 base salary, reviewed annually
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • EMI share option scheme, available on achievement of agreed performance markers
  • Clear pathway to Director level as the business scales
  • 25 days holiday plus 24 & 31 December and statutory bank holidays
  • Pension
  • Critical illness insurance, income protection and death in service
  • Complimentary Will and End-of-Life planning
  • 30% discount for immediate family Wills and End-of-Life planning
  • Funded professional development
  • 6-month probationary period
