The Company - Scientific Instrument Centre Ltd

We are a Sales and Service partner of Laboratory & Medical Equipment, including but not limited to: Washers, Autoclaves, Ovens, Incubators, Fridges & Freezers. We also supplying a variety of Consumable products like Chemicals and Wipes to same Customer base.

Our customers include major Universities and Colleges, Life Sciences companies, Industry leaders, UK Government and MOD, and NHS Trusts.

Recently, we have acquired an Autoclave sales and service company and are looking to expand our service business throughout the UK.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, and mostly based from home, you will be responsible for growing the Company sales. You will have a small team reporting into you – a Sales Engineer and a Contract Sales Coordinator. You will work closely with the Managing Director to form the company sales strategy for the next 5-10 years.

The Candidate

It is essential that you have experience as a Sales Manager and can demonstrate experience growing the Sales of a department or company. It is also essential that you have managed at least a small team of Sales staff. Further knowledge and experience needed is:

  • Working in the Laboratory and/or Medical markets
  • Working on large government and private Tenders
  • Hiring Sales representatives
  • Selling Capital equipment, Services and/or Consumables.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding and developing Sales staff.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a multi-skilled, nationwide, home-based Sales team
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising with Engineers, our Admin team and senior management
  • Ability to think strategically and plan for multi-year objectives
  • Full clean UK Drivers Licence.

Location

As this is a home based role, there is some flexibility over where you can be located. However, there will likely be a regular need to visit our Wokingham site, be out visiting Customers, supporting exhibitions and occasional manufacturer meetings.
