Join a growing international electronics distributor as our
Field Sales Representative for Birmingham & wider UK/Ireland region.
The job title does not determine the gender of the person who can hold it.
TME (Transfer Multisort Elektronik) is one of the leading global distributors of electronic components, modules and industrial automation products, supplying customers in 150+ countries with over 1 milion of products. Our UK & Ireland team is growing, and we’re looking for a field-based sales professional to help us deepen relationships with OEM and manufacturing customers in the region. With more than 30 years of experience, we are constantly developing and entering new markets. Currently, we have 12 subsidiaries 9 in Europe and 3 outside Europe – in USA, China and in India with over 1500 people on a borad !
Territory - Regular travel across England and occasional trips to Ireland and Scotland.
Travel - 4 days per week in the field / 1 day office
Office base - Birmingham Colleshill – weekly team day.
Responsibilities:
- Own and grow a portfolio of existing industrial and electronics customers in the Birmingham region;
- Spend around 80% of your time in the field visiting customers and prospects; 20% on follow-up, proposals and admin;
- Identify new business opportunities with OEMs, manufacturers and distributors and convert them into long-term relationships;
- Develop deep product and market knowledge across our electronic components portfolio (training provided);
- Prepare and follow up quotations, negotiate pricing and terms within guideline;
- Attend trade fairs, events and customer days to represent TME and generate new leads;
- Work closely with inside sales and product specialists to deliver solutions that meet customer needs;
- Use CRM / ERP systems (e.g. SAP) to manage pipeline, forecast, and report on activity.
Requirements:
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Proven B2B field sales experience (2+ years), ideally in electronic components, industrial products or technical distribution;
- Solid knowledge of electronic components (chipsets, semiconductors, passives, connectors etc.) and ability to discuss technical requirements with engineers;
- Full UK driving licence and readiness to travel 4 days per week;
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills in English;
- A self-starting, proactive approach – comfortable working independently while staying aligned with the wider team;
- Confidence with MS Office and basic CRM/ERP tools.
It’s a plus (not required) if you:
- Have formal technical education (electronics, electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar);
- Have used SAP or similar ERP systems;
- Have experience selling to OEM/manufacturing customers in the Midlands / UK.
