Full job description
The Postgraduate Education Manager is responsible for the operational leadership, delivery and continuous improvement of postgraduate medical education across the Trust.
The post holder will ensure that all postgraduate training programmes are effectively planned, delivered and evaluated in line with national standards and the educational contract, whilst supporting the development of a high-quality training environment for resident doctors.
A key component of the role is the leadership and management of the postgraduate education team, ensuring the service is responsive, well-coordinated and aligned to organisational priorities.
The post holder will:
Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of postgraduate medical education services across the Trust
Line manage and develop the postgraduate education team, including setting priorities, allocating work and supporting staff development and performance
Provide visible leadership to ensure a well-functioning, efficient and supportive education service
Oversee education governance arrangements, including quality monitoring and compliance processes
Coordinate Trust-wide resident doctors’ induction and support training programmes (Foundation and GP)
Work closely with clinical divisions and external stakeholders, including NHS England and training bodies
Support reporting processes, including training surveys and education risk management
