LHCH is committed to supporting the education and development of all staff and trainees. The post holder will provide support to the Education Centre, working closely with the Medical Education Facilitator, Clinical and Medical Education Lead, Director of Medical Education and Postgraduate Tutors. The role includes supporting educational governance, quality management of placements and programmes, and ensuring compliance with Trust objectives, Care Quality Commission requirements and other assurance standards. The post holder will support delivery of the educational contract between LHCH and the Mersey Deanery, and the Learning Development Agreement with Health Education England to ensure students and trainees receive high quality education and training. The post holder will have operational responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate medical training programmes and associated educational activities, including study leave administration, evaluations and accreditation reporting. Duties include maintaining educational databases, analysing information and producing reports to support quality improvement and programme management. The successful candidate will work effectively both independently and as part of a team, responding to changing priorities and resolving problems within their area of responsibility. Strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders are essential

Ø Lead the co-ordination of training programmes by liaising and communicating with key stakeholders e.g. within LHCH, NHS England and local HEIs

Ø Assist with the planning and organisation of Undergraduate, GMC and NHS England monitoring visits, action plans and responses in conjunction with senior Education team

Ø Ensure that the learning environment is appropriate for students, trainees and doctors with disabilities.

Ø Ensure all committees and meetings under the structure of education are organised and supported. Provide administrative support as required.

Ø Support the Head of Learning and Development/DME in planning and organising actions as a results of monitoring visits and recommendation in annual reports

Ø Provide support for and contribute to continual monitoring, audit and evaluation of all aspects of the education and training programmes including medical induction

Ø Undertake surveys as necessary for quality assurance/improvement purposes and development strategies within the Education Centre

Ø Interact with professionals and other colleagues both internally and external partner organisations to ensure smooth efficient operation of the Education service i.e. recruitment, interviews, conferences.

Ø Undertake delegated responsibility for PGME & Consultant Study leave budget.

Communication and stakeholder engagement:
Effective communication is facilitated across a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff, students, physicians, and external partners. Act as the primary point of contact for students and resident doctors, delivering clear information, guidance, and interpretation of relevant policies and procedures

Planning and organising event and activities

Lead and co-ordinate timetable planning for undergraduate medical students

Policies, Governance & Quality Assurance

Assist with the action plans, and responses in conjunction with the senior Education team.

Maintain and develop both paper based or electronic data management systems e.g. electronic portfolios for students, electronic booking systems and access accounts.

Training and pastoral Care

Provides comprehensive duty of care and pastoral support to students and resident doctors by delivering clear information, guidance, and interpretation of relevant policies and procedures.

Coordinate a variety of placements and work experience opportunities, including onboarding doctors under various contract types, accommodating complex individual needs (e.g., international candidates, students with disabilities), and ensuring compliance with engagement requirements.

Financial Responsibility

Coordinate purchase requisitions for Education equipment, courses, and other resources.

Manage CPD applications for all Trust staff, liaising with Head of Learning and Development regarding financial allocations.

Management/Leadership Responsibility

To act as main point of contact for all undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and trainees.
