Full job description

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire

Hours: Part-Time, approx. 7.35am - 8.50am and 3.00pm – 5.30pm (Monday to Friday, Term-time only)

Start Date: September 2026

About Us: At Onside Coaching, our mission is to provide primary-aged children of all abilities the opportunity to participate in planned and supervised activities. Our approach is centred entirely around child protection and ensuring that our activities are delivered in a safe and enjoyable environment. During term-time, we offer before and after-school care, where children join us for a mixture of engaging activities and food.

We are a rapidly expanding business! This September, we are launching two brand-new school Wraparound clubs in Rugby, and we are looking for enthusiastic practitioners who are passionate about childcare to join our growing team.

The Role:

Our wraparound care is Ofsted registered and fully meets all of the Statutory Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

As a Wraparound Practitioner, your goal is to help us create a "second-best place to home." You will work within a motivated team of childcare workers to build a safe, happy, and active environment for children aged 4–11 years old to attend during their extended school day.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the School Transition: Create a smooth, welcoming transition for children as they leave their classrooms at the end of the school day.
  • Deliver New Skills & Activities: Provide children with opportunities to play, stay active, and learn new skills in a supervised setting.
  • Provide Nutritious Food: Prepare and offer a healthy, nutritious snack to the children each afternoon.
  • Build Trust & Rapport: Confidently grow positive relationships and a strong rapport with the host school, teachers, parents, and children—creating a secure, trustworthy environment for busy parents to leave their children whilst at work.
  • Maintain High Standards: Work collaboratively as part of a motivated team to deliver high-quality childcare and ensure a safe, protected environment.
  • Utilise Technology: You will have full access to our outstanding bespoke booking system, Onside Live. This platform streamlines operations by creating a live register with all medical information and food allergies clearly labelled, alongside built-in safeguarding controls, first aid/injury reports, and site health and safety checklists.

What We Are Looking For:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience working with primary school-aged children (ages 4–11).
  • Experience working effectively within a team environment.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to starting).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience: (Please highlight these on your application if applicable, though training can be supported for the right candidate)

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.
  • A recognised Childcare qualification (or currently working towards one).
  • Previous safeguarding training or Child Protection Level 1.
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Why Join Onside Coaching?

  • Perfect Part-Time Hours: Ideal morning and afternoon hours that fit around family life, studies, or other morning commitments.
  • Be Part of Our Expansion: Join a growing, ambitious business and help shape our brand-new Rugby settings from day one.
  • Excellent Tools & Support: Work within an Ofsted-registered framework backed by industry-leading software and a supportive team of fellow childcare workers.
