The Company

At Intellegens we enable our customers to apply advanced machine learning methods, accelerating innovation in materials, chemicals, manufacturing, and beyond. Our software can extract hidden value from real-world experimental and process data, serving organisations such as NASA, Johnson Matthey, Boeing, and AstraZeneca. The results are: faster R&D; greener, more cost-effective, better products; and more efficient use of resources. Originally a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, we are at an exciting phase in our development, with well-established products and customers and ambitious growth plans. We push the boundaries of machine learning, while working on interesting projects in a friendly, informal, and motivational work environment.

Role Purpose

A Solution Scientist is primarily responsible for supporting the success of our customers through engaging with their technical, scientific, and organisational needs, applying domain and machine learning expertise to enable successful project outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical Consultation: Provide expert guidance to support customers in their application of our product Alchemite™, ensuring successful project outcomes. Be flexible in approach, applying a wide variety of technical and soft skills to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with potential clients to understand their business challenges and requirements. Maintain ongoing communication with potential leads through updates and regular interactions to nurture relationships over time. Advocate for their clients needs.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a technical liaison between clients and internal teams, providing ongoing support throughout the sales cycle and post-sales phase. Create documentation and training materials to enhance client understanding and autonomy.
  • Skilled Communicator: Act as the public face of the company by delivering compelling product demonstrations and facilitating multi-day technical training sessions for clients.
  • Market Feedback: Gather and analyse feedback from clients and prospects regarding their technical requirements, preferences, and the competitive landscape. Utilise this feedback to inform sales strategies, improve marketing messages, and inform product development.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings. Attend industry conferences, subscribe to relevant publications, and participate in advanced training programs to maintain a competitive edge.

Essential Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry or materials science).
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in applying machine learning and AI to industrial challenges.
  • Passion for customer success and resolving operational pain points.
  • Professional courage and the ability to influence stakeholders without authority.
  • High level of motivation, enthusiasm, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Commitment to contributing significantly to company growth.
  • Be a skilled communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Dedication to continuous learning and personal development.
