Central Team Medical Secretary – OS Practice Management

OS is looking for an experienced and adaptable Float Medical Secretary to join our Central Team, supporting our Medical Secretaries and Consultants across a range of specialist practices. OS is a clinician-led specialist practice with 31 experts across orthopaedics, sports medicine, rheumatology, pain management and oral & maxillofacial surgery.

The role

No two days will be quite the same. You'll step in where you're needed most – supporting Medical Secretaries during busy periods and annual leave, while helping us develop smarter, more centralised ways of working.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting patients by phone and email throughout their journey
  • Managing appointments, diaries and consultant requests
  • Booking treatments, scans, procedures and follow-ups
  • Providing cover and support across different consultant practices
  • Processing billing and payments accurately and efficiently
  • Liaising with clinicians, patients and our external partners
  • Keeping records and correspondence accurate and up to date
  • Helping make every patient's experience simple, seamless and personal

About you

  • You'll be a confident, highly organised administrator who enjoys variety and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
  • You'll have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to build relationships with people at every level.
  • Previous medical secretarial or private healthcare experience would be a strong advantage.
  • Previous float medical secretarial experience is advantageous
