Responsibilities

  • Receiving patients consulting with members of practice team
  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and address.
  • Ability to cover all reception positions as necessary and all the tasks associated with the reception team. This includes, and is not limited to: Incoming post, Outgoing post Emails, Task Box, Patient registrations, Recalls, GP Links
  • Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
  • Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection
  • To assist patients with any other request such as providing them with updates about
  • Communicate effectively with patients

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a health care setting desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Experience of clerical and administrative work
  • Experience and good understanding of operating Microsoft Office including Word,
  • Experience of working in a GP practice
  • Excellent organisational skills meticulous with good time management
  • Ability to work alone and part of a team and promote a good team spirit
  • Ability to make decisions, use own initiative
  • Positive attitude & self-motivated
