Senior Care Assistant – South Kent

Location: South Kent – Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Ashford and surrounding areas
Salary: £16.10 – £19.55 per hour
Shift pattern: Days and nights available

Superior Healthcare is recruiting a Female Senior Care Assistant in South Kent, paying £16.10 – £19.55 per hour, to provide high-quality one-to-one care while helping maintain consistent standards across our care packages. This role combines hands-on, person-centred care with the added responsibility expected from an experienced member of the care team.


Job description

As a Senior Care Assistant with Superior Healthcare, you’ll remain closely involved in delivering care while acting as a positive example for other team members.

You’ll understand the individual care plans, routines and clinical guidance in detail and help support consistency across our packages. This is a mobile role, requiring travel accross south Kent, providing essential support where it is needed most.

Working independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care is delivered to every client.

To be successful in this role, you must have previous hands-on experience with PEG feeding and gastrostomy care, tracheostomy care and management, and ventilation support.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the travel requirements of this position.


Shifts

Typically 3- 12 hour day or night shifts, with optional overtime available.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred complex care
  • To provide care interventions: personal care, medication administration, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, stoma care, and ventilator support
  • To support new members of staff with shadow shifts and induction
  • Follow and help maintain consistency with care plans
  • Promote dignity, independence, choice and quality of life
  • Model safe and professional care practice for colleagues
  • Support less experienced team members where this forms part of the role
  • Monitor wellbeing and escalate changes or concerns appropriately
  • Maintain accurate care records and clear communication
  • Work closely with care colleagues, families and other professionals
  • Support a positive and consistent culture within the care package

Requirements

  • Experience with tracheostomy, PEG and ventilation care
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Minimum of 12 months UK care experience
  • Possession of, or willingness to work towards, a level 3 NVQ qualification or similar
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Strong communication, observation and organisational skills
  • A calm, dependable and person-centred approach
  • Experience supporting or mentoring care colleagues
