Medical Receptionist
Gloucester Road Medical Centre – North Bristol
Full-time & Part-time opportunities available

Gloucester Road Medical Centre is a large, friendly GP practice in North Bristol, and we’re looking for enthusiastic Medical Receptionists to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive environment where you’ll play a key role in helping patients access the care they need.

The Role

As a Medical Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for our patients—both in person and over the phone—helping to ensure a smooth and positive experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Booking and managing patient appointments
  • Handling patient enquiries and requests
  • Providing administrative support to clinicians and staff
  • Maintaining accurate patient records using EMIS Web
  • General clerical duties including filing and data entry

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday between 8:00am – 7:00pm
  • Occasional Saturday mornings
  • Flexible full-time and part-time roles available

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable, and professional
  • A strong communicator with good listening skills
  • Organised and able to work in a busy environment
  • Confident using computers and administrative systems
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Committed to maintaining patient confidentiality

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Previous experience in a GP practice, NHS, or healthcare setting
  • Administrative or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of EMIS Web or similar systems
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
