Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where attention to detail and compassion are highly valued.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously, directing enquiries to the appropriate departments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the practice management system
  • Process administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and handling correspondence
  • Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details and personal data
  • Assist with billing procedures and processing payments where applicable
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy and organised at all times
  • Support other administrative duties as required by the healthcare team

Requirements

  • Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare or medical setting
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent organisational abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in using office software programmes such as Microsoft Office or similar applications
  • Friendly, professional demeanour with a focus on delivering outstanding patient service
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential

This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to providing compassionate patient care while maintaining efficient administrative operations within a busy medical practice.

Pay: £27,202.00 per year
