18 Week RTT Validation Officer | Hybrid | Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months)

About the Role

Castlefield is looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented 18 Week RTT Validation Officer to join a Validation Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, analytical, and data quality skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Trust's Referral to Treatment (RTT) performance by ensuring patient pathway information is accurately recorded, validated, and maintained. Accurate RTT data is critical to patient care, national reporting requirements, and helping the Trust deliver timely treatment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

As an RTT Validation Officer, you will:

  • Validate and maintain patient pathway data within the Trust's Patient Administration System (OASIS/PAS)
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues by reviewing clinical records and liaising with medical secretaries and clinical teams
  • Analyse patient pathways and make informed decisions based on electronic clinical notes and supporting documentation
  • Ensure outpatient outcomes and patient records are updated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Identify, investigate, and correct inaccuracies within patient administration systems.
  • Support weekly and monthly RTT reporting requirements
  • Monitor potential RTT breaches and work with operational teams to minimise delays in patient treatment
  • Respond professionally to telephone, email, and mailbox queries relating to RTT pathways and patient information
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with Data Protection and information governance requirements

Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when working with complex data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with administrative systems and databases
  • Confidence interpreting and validating information from multiple sources
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately

Previous Healthcare administration, patient pathway, waiting list, RTT, PAS, or data quality experience would be advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
