GenesisCare is expanding its UK network with a brand-new cancer care centre in Leeds, bringing together advanced treatment technology, specialist clinical expertise and a patient-centred approach to care.

As one of three founding Medical Secretaries, you will play a vital role in supporting consultants, coordinating patient pathways and helping to establish an exceptional patient experience from day one. This is a unique opportunity to join a new team, contribute to the successful launch of the centre and make a real difference to patients at every stage of their treatment journey.

As a Medical Secretary, you will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to one or more consultants, ensuring the smooth coordination of clinics, appointments and patient pathways. Acting as a key point of contact for patients, consultants and healthcare professionals, you will help ensure patients receive timely, efficient and compassionate support throughout their care journey.

What You'll Do

  • Manage consultant diaries and support the smooth running of clinics.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals and diagnostic results.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate clinic correspondence and medical documentation.
  • Ensure referral letters are processed promptly to support timely patient access to consultations and treatment.
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients, consultants and external healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support the efficient progression of patient pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the centre to deliver an exceptional patient experience.
  • Support the successful launch and ongoing operation of the new Leeds centre.

What You'll Have

  • Previous experience in a Medical Secretary, Healthcare Administrator or similar role.
  • Experience managing diaries, schedules and appointment bookings.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
  • Audio typing skills or equivalent keyboard skills would be advantageous.
