Full job description

We are looking for a keen individual to join the team in our busy and friendly surgery. You will need to have outstanding phone, customer service and IT skills and be a real team player.

Our Patient Services Advisors are the first point of contact for our patients, either on the telephone or in person. We offer training in all aspects of the role, including appointment booking, prescriptions, referrals and clinical filing. The role would suit someone who likes to work as part of a team and is confident in dealing with members of the public.

Reception and NHS experience are helpful but a positive attitude, smart appearance, IT skills and approachable manner are essential. Training and development will be provided.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and computer software, and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • A compassionate approach to patient care with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude

Hours required:

Tuesday 9-15.30 – 30 mins lunch = 6 hours

Wednesday 8-18.30 – 1 hour lunch = 9.5 hours

Thursday 13.00-18.30 – no lunch = 5.5 hours

Friday 09.15-17.00 – 1 hour lunch = 6.75 hours

Total hours: 27.25

Benefits include 5 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays.

Closing date: 20 September 2026 however we reserve the right to close earlier should we recruit a suitable candidate
