Medical Receptionist - Bank

We are a Surgery in semi-rural Rowlands Castle looking for a new member to join our busy, friendly team, as a Bank Medical Receptionist. A very rewarding job, offering great patient services in the area.

Working hours:

To cover sickness/holidays as required.

Job Summary:-

Receive patients & offer all possible assistance to them & to the doctors in a pleasant & efficient manner, whether in person or by telephone. Correctly operate all computer & manual systems, working as part of a team, remembering at all times that the patients’ welfare is of prime concern.

Main Duties as Receptionist:-

1. RECEPTION

a) Make appointments, in person or by telephone

b) Receive & direct patients as required

c) Deal with enquiries & arrange contact with the doctor when necessary

d) Deal with requests for home visits & patient transport

e) Read all manual & computerised messages & respond accordingly

f) Open, date stamp, sort & distribute incoming mail

g) Stamp & direct outgoing mail

2. SURGERIES

a) Prepare consulting rooms

b) Replenish stationery stock for GPs

c) Clear & tidy after surgery at end of day

3. OTHER DUTIES

a) Deal with appointments & enquiries regarding Medicals, Ante Natals, Post Natals, Immunisations, Travel, Smears & Results

b) Efficiently operate end of day checking & locking up procedure

c) Take a turn at making tea and coffee

e) Any other duties as may be required by the practice manager or partners

CONFIDENTIALITY REGARDING ALL PRACTICE MATTERS MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (required)

Experience:

Medical Receptionist or Administrative Role in a GP Practice: 1 year (required)

Must have experience of working with EMIS
