Job Overview

We are seeking an adaptable, friendly and highly professional Health Co-ordinator to join our rural Devon practice. This is a key administrative and patient-facing role supporting clinicians, co-ordinating care pathways and ensuring the smooth running of essential administrative processes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, strong initiative, and the ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. Confidentiality and discretion are essential, as the post holder will routinely handle sensitive patient information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality administrative and co-ordination support to clinical teams
  • Manage administrative tasks, recalls and workflow processes
  • Assist patients in making appointments
  • Processing referrals and hospital communication
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is handled confidentially
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, clinicians and external partners
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive and efficient practice environment

Skills

  • Previous NHS experience preferred but not essential
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is adaptable and flexible
  • Friendly and approachable manner with patients and colleagues
  • Able to use initiative to identify and resolve issues proactively
  • Competent in the use of IT
  • Demonstration of absolute confidentiality as part of your professional conduct
