Field Based - Swindon and Surrounding Areas

We have an exciting opportunity to join a growing technology company as a Field Service Engineer, responsible for servicing, fault-finding, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites across Swindon and the surrounding region.

This is a field-based role that requires a high degree of flexibility, regular travel to customer locations, and the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where delivering excellent service under pressure is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs efficiently to minimise customer downtime.
  • Calibrate sensors, control units, and associated hardware.
  • Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and customer guidance.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites throughout the designated region.
  • Manage workloads and schedules effectively to meet customer service expectations.
  • Complete service documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support continuous product improvement by reporting field feedback and recurring issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or in a similar technical role.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, or repairing equipment.
  • Experience working on construction, plant, industrial machinery, or similar equipment would be advantageous.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively to customer sites as required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional approach when working on-site.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and solve problems proactively.
