Department: Fleet Operations

Pay: £110 -120 per day (Equivalent to £30,000 per annum)

Contract: Self Employed

Hours: 60 Hours per week / 10-hour shifts per day.

Monday – Saturday on a flexible rotational shift and start times between 03:00 -11:00 Monday to Friday and 03:00- 00:00 Saturdays

The Ontime Transport Self Employed Driver Companion position is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business and make a real difference to the lives of our patients.

Ontime works with a bespoke training & recruitment Agency, who are assisting us with the recruitment of our Ambulance Care Assistants.

The Agency will contact potential applicants to select them for interview, and where applicable, provide applicants with suitable training to meet the criteria of our requirements.

The training provided is an investment in yourself, with courses providing nationally recognised qualifications and certificates which are transferable. Once trained by The Agency, you will be a fully compliant PTS driver, qualified to work in a single crew.

The work:

  • Working in a single crew to aid patients with various mobility classifications, transporting Patients to and from non-emergency medical appointments throughout SURREY these could be at NHS or private hospitals/clinics.
  • Ensuring that all patients are collected from their home/medical site and that they are taken to the correct ward and/or settled at home safely.
  • Being friendly and engaging with patients who may be nervous about appointments or live an isolated life.
  • Following PPE regulations at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring the comfort and safekeeping of all patients in your Ambulance. You will be expected to drive in accordance with the Highway Code and in a manner that is both safe and legal.
  • Responsible for the wellbeing of your patients from the moment a booking is sent to you, up to the point the patient is deposited at their destination.
  • Inspecting and completing daily vehicle and equipment check and vehicle wipe down after every patient.
  • Being dependable and on time. Helping patients with mobility where needed, including the use of a wheelchair to transport them.
  • To treat all patients with dignity and respect, providing a quality and dignified service to all patients
  • Reporting any safeguarding issues or incidents to the team.
  • Following all health and safety procedures.

We Offer:

  • Competitive rate of pay from £110-120 per day
  • Strictly Self-employed work

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of driving experience in the UK on a full driving license with no previous penalties for drink driving or insurance-related convictions (even if these are now spent). (Essential)
  • No more than 3 live penalty points on their current driving license. (Essential)
  • Experience from a patient-focused environment is desirable. (Desirable)
  • Ideally, good geographical knowledge of theSURREY area. (Desirable)
  • Full UK Manual driving licence. (Essential)
  • Proven customer service experience or experience dealing with the public or significant experience in a similar role in a patient facing environment. (Desirable)
  • Bank account in the UK. (Essential)
  • 2-year PTS experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Written and spoken English to an intermediate level.
  • Have the right to work in the UK – UNFORTUNATLEY WE DO NOT SPONSOR.

Pay: £550.00-£660.00 per week
