Senior Sourcing Specialist

We are currently working with a leading manufacturing business who are looking for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sourcing Manager and be responsible for developing sourcing strategies based on detailed spend analysis and running contract negotiations and commercial responsibilities across major projects.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on a sourcing activities, commercial decision making on high spend accounts and contract management covering the full end to end sourcing process and continual negotiations on projects.
  • Responsible for sourcing and onboarding at a local and international level.
  • Track performance of the organization spend, supply market and costs.
  • Leverage the organization buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
  • Provide supply market and sourcing advice and recommendations.
  • Manage several high level sourcing and contracting projects, ensuring that all customer needs are understood, and structure and resource projects accordingly to deliver these requirements.
  • Develop, implement and use tools and technology for managing and analysing the supplier portfolio.
  • Implement and support compliance to standards and minimize risk and cost exposure.
  • Support due diligence in mitigating all external supplier risk from supplier selection to contract execution.
  • Push back any advance and reach agreement with suppliers on cost increases they propose.
  • Source & evaluate new suppliers to improve our brand and service to shop floor.

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 3 (+) years working within sourcing and supply chain
  • Previous experience in building and maintaining supplier relationships and actively reducing costs
  • An excellent understanding of supply chain and procurement processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently and make decisions
  • A confident, can-do attitude towards work
  • Experience in working on ERP / MRP systems
