At Specsavers Luton, we’re looking for an enthusiastic, patient-focused Registered Dispensing Optician who is ready to take the next step in their career by combining expert dispensing with a key leadership role within our busy practice. About the Role

As our Dispensing Optician / Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in both the clinical and operational success of the practice.You’ll lead by example on the retail floor, ensuring every patient receives outstanding advice, exceptional service and the very best dispensing experience. Working closely with the Director, Optometrists and wider team, you’ll help drive performance while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Deliver outstanding dispensing consultations tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and visual needs.
  • Recommend the most appropriate lenses, coatings and frame solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on spectacle fitting, adjustments and aftercare.
  • Ensure compliance with GOC standards and professional best practice.
  • Support and promote myopia management, children’s eyecare and specialist dispensing.
  • Work collaboratively with our Optometrists to provide excellent patient outcomes.

Leadership

  • Inspire, motivate and develop the dispensing and retail team.
  • Coach colleagues to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one coaching and performance reviews.
  • Lead by example and create a positive, supportive culture.
  • Support recruitment, induction and ongoing colleague development.

Commercial

  • Drive key business KPIs including:
  • Patient satisfaction
  • Conversion
  • Multiple pair sales
  • Premium lens uptake
  • Contact lens referrals
  • Practice profitability
  • Identify opportunities to improve both clinical care and commercial performance.
  • Promote new products and services with confidence and integrity.

Operational

  • Help manage the day-to-day operation of a busy practice.
  • Ensure excellent diary utilisation and workflow.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation throughout the store.
  • Support stock management and merchandising.
  • Ensure compliance with Specsavers operational procedures.

About You

Previous management or supervisory experience would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate.
