Due to continued growth and expansion, we're seeking an enthusiastic MRI Radiographer to join our friendly team in Bath.

About Us:

Established in 2004, Diagnostic Healthcare is a trusted provider of medical diagnostic imaging services. From MRI, Ultrasound, and CT to X-ray and CBCT, we deliver over 300,000 scan appointments annually across 75 locations, serving both NHS and private patients. Duties and Responsibilities

· To undertake a range of MRI scans in line with DHC, Local, Regional and National Guidelines.

· To practice unsupervised providing a high standard of diagnostic imaging service to all users ensuring clinical safety at all times together with high quality patient care.

· To administer contrast where required.

· To have a degree of personal and professional autonomy and the ability to make clinical judgements and critical decisions of the highest order, using knowledge, skills and experience.

· To provide high standards of patient care in a safe, clean and tidy working environment, observing all company/Trust policies and maintaining professional and personal standards.

· To meet and greet patient in a pleasant, confident and professional manner and explain the scanning procedure.

· To confirm correct patient identification using required THREE forms of identification; full name, date of birth and address.

· To input correct patient data into the scanning database and clarify details with patient prior to start of scan.

· To assist patients in a safe and appropriate manner, as and when requested by the patient, using recognised manual handling techniques for patient transfer and support.

· To maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.

· To ensure the scan room and waiting areas are kept clean and tidy at all times maintaining a safe clinical environment free from hazards.

· To ensure the scanning unit is clean at all times using recommended cleaning agent suitable for eliminating multi-biohazard such as C-Diff and MRSA.

· To maintain a good relationship with the clinic/hospital team and support them with any patient adjustments as required.

· To liaise with Trust in relation to queries arising during the delivery of the service.

· To call the patient services team/hospital team to inform them of any urgent patients immediately following the patient’s scan.

· To complete the end-of-day report on Origami prior to close of clinical session detailing any patients requiring urgent radiologist opinion, urgent reporting, equipment breakdown or intermittent problems, patient DNAs and any other relevant information which may need to be documented or relied upon in the future.

· To ensure images are uploaded to PACS at the end of each session.

· To co-ordinate and support the Regional Lead Radiographer with maintenance and faults regarding the scanner and sub systems.

· To report stock requirements to the Operations-Co-ordinator.

· To participate in training other radiographers as required.

· To remain up to date with the changes and current trends in MRI procedures.

· To be committed to lifelong learning and produce evidence of CPD, thus maintaining ‘fitness to practice’ in accordance with the Radiographic Code of Professional Conduct.

· To maintain the highest personal, professional and MRI standards.

· To adhere to the company Health and Safety Policies and to use any equipment or personal protective equipment provided safely.

· To support the incident/complaint investigation process by providing statements following any incidents/complaint.

· To respond to the needs of the company, hospital, patients and staff as necessary.

· To be prepared to work flexibly to meet service demands.

Supplementary Information

Professional

· Accountable for own professional activities within all DHC working environments, clinical and non-clinical.

· To keep up to date with DHC information, events and developments by attending meetings, reading appropriate communications and cascading such information on to all colleagues when requested.

Communication and Relationship Skills

· Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

· Accuracy and attention to detail.

· To act upon complex information received from Consultants and to communicate effectively with them.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

· Minimum of 1 years post graduate experience in Radiographic techniques.

· HCPC registration

· Diploma of the Society of Radiographers or BSc equivalent.

· Work permit to work in the UK.

· Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures (including all the hospital sites that are relevant for the mobile MRI/CT scanner).

· Certificate in, and experience of, cannulation.

· Familiar with contra-indications for scanning.

· Minimum basic Life support training, intermediate life support training preferred.

· CT Radiographers must to be up to date with IRMER regulations, DRLs and report any risks to RPS.

Planning and Organisational Skills

· Plans and prioritises own workload, accepting urgent referrals and additions to the list as required whilst maintaining an efficient throughput of patients and ensuring best patient care at all times.

Responsibility for Patient/Client Care

· To ensure clinical safety at all times.

· To be sensitive to the needs of patients who are nervous of the MRI/CT process.

Responsibility for Policy and Service Development Implementation

· Adhere to company policies.

· Proposes changes to working practices or procedures within own work area.

Responsibility for Finance and Physical Resources

· Responsible for safely using expensive specialist equipment and reporting any faults to the Regional Lead Radiographer.

Responsibility for Human Resources

· Regularly responsible for providing training within own discipline to students and medical personnel.

· To give professional advice to staff, health professional and clinicians.

· To adhere to national guidelines in adhering to company protocols.
