Grade UE05: £29,588- £33,951 per annum pro-rata as part-time

Corporate Services Group / Edinburgh Research Office

Part-time: 7 hours per week

Fixed-term: 1 st August 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to 31 st January 2027

The Opportunity:

This internship is an exciting opportunity to contribute to demonstrating the impact of the world leading research undertaken at the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine . Working within a team of research impact and engagement professionals, you will be associated with specific disciplinary areas within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. You will work with professional services colleagues to evidence impact from research, supporting the development of compelling narratives for the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Attributes for success:

  • A broad understanding of the research disciplines within the medical, biomedical and veterinary sciences.
  • A proven ability to identify, analyse and present quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team, balancing competing, shifting priorities.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.

This post is 7 hours per week. The University of Edinburgh operates a hybrid working policy based on business need. Depending on the needs of the specific disciplinary areas the post-holder is associated with, we expect a minimum 50% on-campus attendance, across multiple sites, for in person meetings and team anchor days.

Should you be successful, you will require written confirmation from your academic supervisor that you can undertake the internship. We recommend that students discuss the internship with their supervisor, as well as with their employer, before applying.
