Support Worker - Learning Disabilities (Brighton)

£17.00 per hour for weekdays & £17.50 per hour for weekends(inclusive of holiday pay)

At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to support our service user in the Brighton Area. Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently and with dignity in their own home.

This is a meaningful 2:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.

About the Client

The individual is predominantly bedbound and non-weight-bearing and requires support with all aspects of their daily care and wellbeing. They experience frequent non-epileptic seizures, which can occur during both the day and night and cannot be predicted. Following seizures, they may experience periods of memory loss and confusion. The individual would like to get out of their property and get back into the community.

Clinical Requirements

You will support the client with the specific clinical tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:

• Autism

• Learning Disability Management

• Epilepsy

• Personal care

• Medication support

Full specialist training and competency sign-off are provided by our Clinical Team, so you do not need to have every skill listed to apply.

Shifts Available

We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.

Monday - Sunday: 10:00AM - 16:00PM

What the Role Involves

• Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
• Supporting with community access and social activities
• Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
• Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
• Communicating effectively with the clinical, care and coordination teams

Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.

What We’re Looking For

The successful carers will provide 2:1 support with:

• Personal care and continence care.

• Safe moving and handling, including transfers using a hoist.

• Repositioning and maintaining comfort while in bed.

• Supporting with nutrition and hydration.

• Medication prompts and support with medication routines.

• Maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable home environment.

• Providing reassurance and appropriate support following seizures.

• Supporting with appointments and accessing healthcare where required.

• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting any concerns appropriately.

• Promoting dignity, independence and choice wherever possible.

• Helping prepare lunch and dinner

Compliance Requirements

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, Right to Work verification and full CQC/Schedule 3-compliant onboarding.
