Overview of Company

Eumar Technology is a medical manufacturing company. We now have an opening in our successful dressings team for a trainee machine setter. This is a small team of individuals that set and run the machine and pack the medical product within a cleanroom environment.

Suitable candidate would suit a person that is practical and enjoys learning new skills and may have mechanical interests. The individual should be able to pick up processes quickly and follow instructions to ensure a quality product is manufactured. They should be a team player, keen to support the team in all tasks of the department.

Overview of role

Be part of an efficient medical production team, learn to operate and set production machinery to ensure that product manufacture and packaging of that product meet both quality and hygiene standards laid out in the company specifications and work instructions for each specific product.

Importance of being a team player, communicating with the team within the cleanroom and acting on information passed to you.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Training to set machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, including complying Health & Safety procedures and processes and internal processes and procedures to achieve optimum quality and efficiency.
• Ensure the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act, 1974 are complied with especially where the operation of equipment have the safety features in use and any additional safety equipment is used appropriately and in accordance with company policies on Health & Safety and Hygiene.
• Comply with company’s quality operating procedures, ISO 13485 while supporting the continual improvement of the environmental procedures of ISO 14001 and net zero targets.
• Follow set procedures and policies to ensure that the production machinery in use is set within validation tolerances, and any deviations are advised to Team manager/supervisor (in their absence Production manager) immediately.
• Ensure that any issues relating to product integrity and/or quality specification are passed through to the Team manager or supervisor (in their absence the Production manager) quickly.
• Once trained, accurately complete process control sheets and all other documentation required by the company to check that the product stays within specification and for Eumar and customer traceability.
• Training to maximise output whilst maintaining quality remains within specification of finished product, reducing waste and maintaining accurate documented records.
• Ensure the cleanliness & orderliness of the area is maintained at the highest level.
• When training carry out Production Quality checks accurately, following the work instruction, checking specifications and record information legibly. Alert any out of specification issues immediately.
• Support and comply and carry out the department’s specific scheduled machine maintenance activities, hygiene, housekeeping and clean downs to the relevant procedures or work instructions, to maintain product quality.
• Support with the diagnoses of machine performance issues and work with team to identify and implement solutions.
• Contribute to one-point lessons and Root Cause analysis.
• Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
• Work and communicate with the department's team and management team to achieve company objectives through continual improvement.
• As required, complete any other task in other departments to support the needs of the business.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow work instructions and comply with product specifications.
• Mechanical understanding or interest, with possible engineering skills.
• Methodical working and maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
• Awareness of the hygiene levels required for the manufacture and packaging of medical products and work environment.
• Understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace, protecting self, others and equipment from harm or damage.
• Ability to remain focused, methodical, maintaining Health & Safety and Quality requirements, and being professional to complete the task effectively.
• Communicate and work as a team to produce the most effective outcome.
• Good level of education in both English and Mathematics.

Pay: £27,682.20-£27,783.60 per year
