Clinical Trainer
UK
£43,000 + benefits
You’ll get a specialist training position that builds on your clinical knowledge and gives you more regular hours.
You’ll work mostly from home with occasional travel to Wales and the Midlands, keeping your weekdays free and your weekends yours.
This is a natural next step if you’ve worked as a Functional Assessor. You’ll stay close to what you know while developing new skills in training design, delivery and assessment.
On top of that, you’ll enjoy a solid package that supports your well-being and future security: 25 days’ holiday (rising to 27) plus the option to buy more, and a paid volunteering day each year. You’ll also get auto-enrolment in a pension, life assurance, Cycle2Work scheme and generous parental leave—15 weeks fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave, plus two weeks’ paternity pay.
All of this gives you a structured yet flexible career path, with the chance to influence how other healthcare professionals develop and perform.
What you’ll do
Working as part of the Clinical Support team, you’ll deliver and facilitate approved training to new and existing Functional Specialists (FSs). You’ll tailor your approach to operational needs, using a mix of face-to-face, virtual and blended methods.
You’ll manage cohorts, track performance post-training, and ensure learning objectives are met. Your feedback and guidance will help FSs maintain clinical standards and achieve productivity targets.
Training outcomes will be your responsibility. You’ll document feedback, supervised practice, and any issues that arise. You’ll also review training data to spot trends and drive continuous improvement.
What you’ll need
- To be an experienced UK registered Health Professional with a minimum of two years post-registration experience and current and unrestricted professional registration with any of the following bodies: GMC, NMC, HCPC;
- Approved PIP Functional Specialist status, as awarded by DWP/DFC with no restrictions pending or in process;
- Experience or knowledge of Learning & Development practices, and of delivering a range of training interventions including face to face, virtual and blended.
About the company
The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits. The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of the DWP & DfC by Capita.
