Freelance Face-to-Face and Remote Interpreters required in the Hampshire area

About ExamWorks Language Services (ELS):

Part of the ExamWorks group, a leading provider of independent medical examinations, expert assessments, and specialist support services to the insurance, legal, and healthcare sectors.

Our interpreting and translation solutions enable clear, accurate communication between stakeholders and their clients, supporting fair and informed outcomes across a range of complex and sensitive matters. We are committed excellence, compliance, and service integrity, and continue to build a network of skilled linguists who share our high standards.

We are currently looking for freelance interpreters in and around the Hampshire area to join our newly established and fast-growing panel.

What we offer:
  • Exclusive access to interpreting assignments across the ExamWorks Group, spanning insurance, legal, and healthcare sectors.
  • User-friendly technology platforms to manage bookings, schedules, and invoicing with ease.
  • Flexible working arrangements that allow you to manage your hours, workload and invoicing.
Role Overview:

As an ELS-registered interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between professionals and clients who do not share a common language. You will interpret dialogue in real time, ensuring meaning, tone, and intent are faithfully conveyed.

Assignments will take place across various settings where precision, confidentiality, and impartiality are essential.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver professional language interpreting services across various settings.
  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and impartiality at all times.
  • Follow all interpreting guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to clients and service users.
Professional Standards:
  • Adhere strictly to our Code of Conduct.
  • Exhibit punctuality, reliability, confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
  • Remain impartial and unbiased, showing courtesy to all parties involved.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the cultures associated with both languages.
Skills & Attributes:
  • Possess excellent communication, language, and organisational skills.
  • Maintain a professional demeanour throughout each assignment.
Experience and Qualifications:

We prioritise applications from interpreters who hold relevant qualifications and experience. Those with certifications such as DPSI, DPI, Community Interpreting, or academic degrees in languages (BA, MA, PhD), will be given greater visibility and access to a broader range of opportunities with ELS.

We also recognise the need for flexibility in rare or underrepresented languages and regions. We are committed to supporting linguists who wish to develop their careers in interpreting.

Additional requirements:
  • Proof of a valid right to work within the UK
  • A valid DBS certificate (or agreement to apply for one)
Our Commitment to Inclusion:

ExamWorks UK is proud to have achieved Level 3 Disability Confident Leader status, reaffirming our commitment to accessibility and inclusion. As a Disability Confident Leader, we:
  • Promote inclusive recruitment and development
  • Share best practices across the industry
  • Lead the way in supporting disabled people at work
