Full job description

Thorpe House is a family owned and run specialist mental health nursing home based in Almondbury in Huddersfield. Thorpe House is a Grade 2 listed building set in well tended grounds. It provides a tranquil setting for the residents who live here.

The home has an on site Nutritionist and Occupational Therapy team as well as a nursing team

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic support worker to join our existing dedicated team.

Experience is not essential as we provide full training.

Duties include:

Delivering personal care

Supporting residents with activities inside the home and in the community

Assisting with meal times

Some food preparation will be necessary in the two smaller units which are part of Thorpe House

Providing support to our nursing team when asked

Team work is an essential skill

Shift pattern

Day shift is 07.45 – 20.00

Night shift 19.45 – 08.00

There is an unpaid break time of 75 minutes taken as 2 x 30 and 1 x 15

Candidates will be expected to work both days nights and weekends on a rotating basis

Candidates will be expected to work a minimum of 33 hours per week which is three shifts

Salary

The hourly rate is £12.71 with an enhancement for nights

Annual leave is 5.6 weeks calculated by hours

Commute

There is a bus route nearby and on site parking

Candidates must be able to provide evidence of the right to work

An enhanced DBS will be required
