Full job description

Please do not apply for this position if you are NMC registered or classed as a CQC listed healthcare professional

Are you a qualified ear wax removal practitioner looking for the freedom and flexibility of self-employed working? We are seeking experienced mobile practitioners to join our network, covering designated areas.

This is an ideal opportunity for clinicians who want to take control of their schedule, build their own patient relationships, and grow their practice — all while being supported by our established referral network and administrative infrastructure. You will travel to patients at their homes, or other agreed venues, delivering high-quality ear care with the autonomy you deserve.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Travelling to patient locations across a designated area to carry out ear wax removal appointments
  • Performing microsuction, irrigation, and/or manual instrumentation as clinically appropriate
  • Conducting thorough patient consultations including medical history and otoscopic assessment
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in line with clinical and data protection standards
  • Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and sterilised according to infection control guidelines
  • Providing clear post-treatment advice and aftercare information to all patients
  • Managing your own diary and appointment schedule flexibly around your availability
  • Communicating professionally with referrers and healthcare colleagues where required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A recognised qualification in aural microsucton
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in ear wax removal — microsuction and/or irrigation
  • Registered / Formlery registered with a professional body e.g. HCPC, NMC. Please be advised we currently cannot take on anyone still on the NMC register.
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle — essential for this mobile role
  • Public liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centred approach
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to self-manage workload and schedule
  • A professional, reliable, and discreet manner when visiting patients in their own homes

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in a domiciliary, community, or mobile healthcare setting
  • Experience using digital patient record or booking systems
  • Own clinical equipment (microsuction unit, loupes etc.) — though this is not essential

WHAT'S ON OFFER

  • Competitive self-employed rates of pay — discussed at interview
  • Complete flexibility over your working days and hours
  • Referrals provided — we handle the bookings and admin so you can focus on clinical care
  • Autonomy to build and grow your own patient caseload
  • A collaborative and approachable team to support you

IMPORTANT — SELF-EMPLOYMENT

This opportunity is offered on a self-employed, freelance basis. You will be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance contributions, and for maintaining appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance. We are happy to discuss the details of the arrangement at interview.
