The Role

We’re looking for either a Full Time or Part Time Assessor & IQA with relevant experience to join our Training Department to support learners through their qualification journeys in:

· Fire Risk Assessment

· Passive Fire Protection

· Fire Door Inspection

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality assessment and internal quality assurance, ensuring learners receive clear, constructive feedback while maintaining awarding body standards.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining assessment, quality assurance, mentoring, and continuous improvement.

Work Location/Hours

Home-based, with occasional travel to Head Office

Full-time – 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and tutor learners, marking assessments and providing clear, constructive, and actionable (SMART) feedback
  • Track learner progress in line with FPA and IQA requirements
  • Deliver guidance on assessment processes (online and classroom-based)
  • Conduct Internal Quality Assurance (IQA), ensuring consistency, validity, and compliance with awarding body standards
  • Mentor and support assessors, promoting best practice and standardisation
  • Manage your caseload effectively, meeting deadlines and quality expectations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of assessment materials
  • Identify and address plagiarism or malpractice concerns
  • Collaborate with internal teams and technical specialists to enhance assessment quality

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge or experience in; Fire Doors, Passive Fire Protection
  • Level 4 qualification in Teaching and Learning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Experience of facilitation and influencing skills with experience in delivering clear, structured feedback

Desirable

  • 3rd party accreditation or willingness to work towards
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training or experience of relevant CPD/Qualification delivery
  • Level 4 Assessor qualification
  • Experience of carrying out fire risk assessment and report writing
  • Level 4 IQA qualification
  • Fire Risk Assessment Level 4 regulated qualification or equivalent experience for Experienced Worker Route
