Are you looking to use your clinical skills in a different way? As a full-time Functional Assessor, you'll continue to utilise your clinical expertise, maintain your registration, and enjoy a better work-life balance.

We're looking for NMC-registered Adult Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with broad experience assessing and managing adults with a range of health conditions.. You'll need to be currently practising in the UK and have been in UK clinical practice throughout the last 12 months.

We're particularly interested in Practice Nurses, District Nurses and Pre-Assessment Nurses, alongside nurses with broad, recent NHS or hospital-based clinical experience in A&E/Emergency, ICU, acute or general medical wards, mental health PICU or secure services.

HCPC-registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics and GPhC-registered Pharmacists are also welcome to apply.

Flexibility and hybrid working

You'll work 3 days per week in our Assessment Centre and 2 days from home. Working hours throughout training are 9am–5pm Monday to Friday. Once training is completed, other working patterns are available.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out functional assessments face-to-face, via video and telephone to assess claimants' ability to undertake activities of daily living.
  • Using active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information.
  • Producing high-quality, structured clinical reports for submission to the DWP.
  • Working alongside experienced clinical colleagues to ensure high-quality and clinically fair assessments.

You'll receive paid, structured training to achieve formal DWP accreditation, plus CPD and reimbursed professional registration fees.

This full-time role requires broad adult clinical experience, confidence using technology and the ability to produce detailed, high-quality reports.
