Full job description

Are you passionate about supporting others to live happy, fulfilling lives? Do you enjoy building meaningful relationships, getting creative and helping people achieve their goals?

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Adult Day Services Support Worker to join our friendly team at InFocus and support the amazing young adults who attend our Adult Day Service.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help people with visual impairments and complex needs enjoy new experiences, build friendships, develop independence and make the most of every day.

About the role

Our Adult Day Service currently supports 15 young adults on a weekly basis. Many of the people we support have complex and, in some cases, life-limiting medical conditions, and require assistance with personal care and daily living activities.

As an Adult Day Services Support Worker, you'll provide person-centred support that empowers individuals to make choices, pursue their interests and achieve their personal goals.

You'll help create engaging, meaningful days by supporting activities such as:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Gardening
  • Baking and cooking
  • Music and singing
  • Community activities and outings
  • Social opportunities and friendship building
  • Life skills development

Most importantly, you'll help ensure every individual feels valued, respected, listened to and supported.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a caring, kind and compassionate nature
  • Is passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives
  • Enjoys being creative and getting involved in activities
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude
  • Is patient, reliable and adaptable
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Is willing to learn and develop new skills

Our young adults enjoy a good sing-song, creative activities and trying out tasty new recipes, so if you're artistic, enjoy storytelling, love gardening or simply bring plenty of enthusiasm and positivity, we'd love to hear from you.

Previous care experience is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, values and commitment to making a difference.

What you'll get in return

We believe great people deserve great support, so we offer:

  • Six weeks annual leave plus eight bank holidays (pro rata for part-time hours)
  • Occupational sick pay from day one
  • Paid medical appointments
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Enhanced paternity leave
  • Long Service Awards
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities
  • On-site café
  • Access to discounted shopping schemes
  • Free on-site parking
  • 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme
  • Death in service life assurance and group accident cover
  • Free flu vaccinations (care roles only)
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Contributory pension scheme for eligible staff

Why join InFocus?

At InFocus, we support young people and adults with visual impairments and complex needs to live with greater choice, confidence and independence. Every day, our colleagues make a genuine difference to people's lives, helping them discover what's possible and achieve their ambitions.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same and where you can see the impact of your work every day, we'd love to hear from you.
