Overview

Occupational Health Advisor role: 4 day per week (30 Hrs) Hybrid/Edinburgh area

Join OH3's growing dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Health Advisor based in the heart of the beautiful city of Edinburgh,.

We are looking for dedicated clinician whose expertise will drive proactive health initiatives and support employee well-being across diverse workplaces. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive occupational health services, promote a safe and healthy work environment, and provide expert guidance on health management strategies. You will work alongside our leadership team to help the clinical team to achieve optimal health outcomes while fostering a culture of safety and care.

The role is based in Edinburgh and onsite in the Central Belt, one day per week in the clinic in central Edinburgh, close to Waverley Station, 1 day remote from home and 2 days onsite at clients around Edinburgh and the Central Belt or working from the clinic if not required onsite.

This role is a mix of case management and providing Occupational Health support and guidance to sites for absence management and supporting the clinical lead with overseeing and supporting the OH screening nurses and technicians who deliver health surveillance services onsite.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing a varied caseload through telephone and face-to-face case management consultations.

Providing evidence-based occupational health advice.

New starter employment screening and follow up call assessments via telephone.

Supporting the Clinical Lead in delivering Occupational Health services and wellbeing programmes in partnership with clients.

Maintaining accurate and confidential health records in accordance with legislation and professional standards.

Producing management reports and contributing to safe and effective Occupational Health practice.

Supporting clients from a variety of industries through a combination of home-based and on-site service delivery.

Some of the days you will be on the rota as the nurse supporting the OH Nurses and Technicians delivering the onsite health surveillance with escalations and review of results.

Supporting the Clinical Lead nurse with policy development and clinical Audit of OH nurses and Technicians.

Essential requirements:

Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN and no restrictions on practice.

Qualified Occupational Health Advisor (Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health) desirable (Experienced Occupational Health Advisor who is willing to undertake the Diploma in Occupational Health supported by OH3 will be considered)

Experience delivering telephone case management and face-to-face Occupational Health consultations and provision of high quality reports.

Ability to provide evidence based best practice advice on health and work-related matters.

Experience undertaking health screening activities below and knowledge of occupational health legislation and employment law.

  • Drug and alcohol testing

Competent user of Microsoft Office 365 and Occupational Health software systems.

Understanding and adherence to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant guidance and data protection legislation

Minimum of 24 months' UK-based Occupational Health experience.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle and ability to travel to client sites as required,
