Overview

The Compliance Coordinator will support the Compliance Manager and wider Compliance team in maintaining and continually improving Murphy & Son's Quality, Regulatory and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) systems.

Working within a regulated manufacturing environment, the role will assist in ensuring compliance with BRCGS Food Safety requirements, CLP Regulations, ISO 9001 standards, applicable legal requirements and customer expectations. The successful candidate will support auditing, investigations, compliance monitoring, document control, technical enquiries and continuous improvement activities while promoting a culture of quality, safety and compliance throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and continual improvement of Quality, Regulatory and HSE management systems.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with BRCGS, CLP and applicable legislative requirements.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and support customer, certification and regulatory audits.
  • Raise, investigate and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to completion.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, records, registers and action trackers.
  • Assist in responding to technical, quality and compliance-related customer enquiries.
  • Support supplier assurance and supplier compliance activities.
  • Assist with incident, accident and near-miss investigations.
  • Prepare compliance reports, analyse trends and support management review activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Quality, Regulatory and HSE functions.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety and compliance across the business.

Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
  • Experience managing NCRs, CAPAs and Root Cause Analysis investigations.
  • Strong report writing and technical documentation skills.
  • DGSA qualification and experience.
  • Experience responding to technical, customer or compliance-related enquiries.
  • Understanding of compliance systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with BRCGS Food Safety Standards.
  • Knowledge of CLP Regulations.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 certified environment.
  • Awareness of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • HACCP training or experience.
  • Experience within the food, beverage, brewing, chemical or ingredients sectors.
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Scientific degree or equivalent qualification.
