Pharmacy Technician – Medicines Management & Audit | East Midlands | Field-Based

Join Speeds Healthcare in an exciting new field-based role, conducting medicines management audits and delivering training across private mental health hospitals, social care sites, and specialist clinics in the East Midlands.

The role:

  • Conduct medicines management audits across designated sites, ensuring compliance with national and local standards
  • Review medicines storage, administration, and documentation
  • Carry out STOMP audits to support reduction of inappropriate psychotropic prescribing
  • Deliver training on medicines management best practices to clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Prepare audit reports and recommend corrective actions via our internal auditing system
  • Support development and monitoring of action plans to address identified issues
  • Escalate high-risk findings promptly in line with procedures
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and MDTs to improve medicines governance

What you'll need:

  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a pharmacy technician role
  • Experience in governance or audit work is ideal, but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of medicines management principles
  • Excellent communication skills with clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Confident working independently and managing your own workload
  • Competent in digital tools for reporting and virtual meetings
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable:

  • Experience in mental health services
  • Previous involvement in STOMP initiatives
  • Understanding of regulatory authority standards and frameworks
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and regulatory requirements across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland
