Independent Prescribing Pharmacist – NHS 111 Clinical Assessment Service

Location: Medway or Crawley (Onsite)
Working Pattern: Predominantly evenings and weekends (Out of Hours)
Job Type: Flexible/Sessional opportunities available

We are currently seeking experienced Independent Prescribing Pharmacists to join an NHS 111 Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) team supporting patients with urgent healthcare needs.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced clinical environment, providing high-quality patient care and clinical decision-making within an established NHS service.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Pharmacist with an active GPhC registration.
  • Qualified Independent Prescriber.
  • Experience prescribing a wide range of medications.
  • Experience working within Out of Hours (OOH) services and/or Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC).
  • Experience prescribing within Primary Care settings.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Undertake clinical assessments within the NHS 111 Clinical Assessment Service.
  • Provide safe and effective prescribing decisions for patients presenting with urgent care needs.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians and healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with service requirements.

Training:

Successful candidates may have the opportunity to attend a training programme taking place from 24th to 27th August at our Medway site.
