We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Officer to join our Mental Health and Learning Disabilities team in Scunthorpe. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality services for adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and complex care requirements. As a Lead Officer, you will provide professional leadership, oversight, and operational support to ensure that statutory duties are met and that individuals receive safe, effective, and person-centred support. You will contribute to service development, promote best practice, and work closely with partners across health, social care, voluntary sector organisations, and local communities.

In this role, you will provide day-to-day professional leadership to practitioners within the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities team, supporting them in managing complex cases, safeguarding concerns, and risk assessment processes. You will ensure that service delivery aligns with statutory frameworks such as the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act, while upholding local safeguarding procedures. You will work collaboratively with health partners, community organisations, and other stakeholders to support integrated pathways of care. The role also involves contributing to service planning, quality assurance, and improvement initiatives, and playing a key part in ensuring that individuals experience positive outcomes that promote independence, choice, and wellbeing. As a Lead Officer, you will provide clear advice, professional guidance, and coaching to staff, maintain high standards of practice, and represent the service in multi-agency discussions.

We are looking for someone who is a confident and reflective Social Worker with strong knowledge of adult social care legislation and best practice relating to mental health and learning disabilities. You should have experience working within statutory or health-based services, ideally in a senior, supervisory, or leadership capacity. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing complex situations, assessing risk, and supporting effective decision-making, as well as being able to build strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams. You will need to be organised, resilient, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support, while also being an effective communicator capable of supporting and guiding colleagues.
