Support Worker — Children & Families | Southampton
Frontline Health Professionals
Pay rates — all rates are PAYE gross and inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay at 12.07% (statutory entitlement for irregular-hours workers under the Employment Rights (Amendment, Revocation and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2024)
- Monday – Friday, (day) 08:00–20:00, £16.00 per hour
- Saturday (day), 08:00–20:00, £17.00 per hour
- Sunday & Bank Holiday (day), 08:00–20:00, £19.00 per hour
- Waking nights, 20:00–08:00, £17.00 per hour
- Sleeping nights, 20:00–08:00, £13.68 per hour
All rates apply to workers aged 21 and over. Rolled-up holiday pay is itemised separately on every payslip. These are gross PAYE rates paid directly by Frontline Health Professionals, not umbrella-inclusive figures.
Frontline Health Professionals is recruiting experienced Support Workers for children and families work in Southampton.
These are flexible, shift-based roles supporting children, young people and families at the point they most need it, helping families stay together, get the right help, and avoid the breakdown of a home or placement.
What you'll be doing
✅ Supporting children, young people and families in their own home and in the community
✅ Providing the consistent, reliable presence that helps families stay together
✅ Responding to emergency and short-notice placements
✅ Supporting daily routines, education engagement and community participation
✅ Working alongside the family's Lead Practitioner and the wider professional network
✅ Keeping clear, accurate records and working within agreed safeguarding frameworks, including recognising risk to children both inside and outside the home
What we need from you
- Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
- Experience of working with children and young people in a professional setting
- Flexibility across days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Full commitment to safeguarding, professional boundaries and recording standards
Desirable: experience with families at risk or children in care; crisis or emergency response experience; full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Pay and engagement — stated plainly
- All rates are PAYE gross, paid directly by Frontline Health Professionals
- Rolled-up holiday pay at 12.07% is included in every rate above and itemised on your payslip
- Paid weekly following timesheet approval
- Before you agree any terms with us, you will receive a Key Information Document setting out exactly what you will be paid, any deductions, and who pays you
- Zero-hours contracts are offered without exclusivity, you are free to work for other employers
