Imagine finishing your shift and enjoying:

  • World-class cafés and restaurants
  • Stunning beaches and coastal drives
  • Award-winning wine regions
  • Major sporting and cultural events

  • Many UK nurses move for the career opportunities.

Why Join Forensicare?

Be Part of the Largest Expansion in Forensic Mental Health Nursing in Victoria

This isn't simply a mental health nursing vacancy.

It's an opportunity to join a service undergoing one of the most significant expansions in its history.

Over the coming years, Thomas Embling Hospital is expanding from 136 beds to 218 beds, with the addition of six new inpatient units and 82 new beds. The first new units will open in 2026, creating exciting opportunities for Mental Health Nurses who want to help shape the future of forensic mental health care.

Rather than joining a long-established service and fitting into an existing culture, you'll have the opportunity to help build new teams, influence practice and contribute to the development of modern therapeutic environments from day one.

Work Alongside Highly Skilled Clinical Teams

Unlike many healthcare settings where nurses may rely heavily on support workers and healthcare assistants, at Forensicare you'll work within a workforce built around qualified mental health professionals.

You will be supported by and collaborate with:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurses
  • Psychiatrists
  • Psychologists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Social Workers
  • Allied Health Clinicians
  • Specialist Forensic Mental Health Practitioners

This multidisciplinary approach ensures high-quality clinical decision-making, shared expertise and genuine opportunities for professional learning and development.

Specialist Mental Health Nursing at Its Best

Forensic Mental Health Nursing offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills in:

  • Risk assessment and management
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Recovery-focused practice
  • Complex mental health presentations
  • Therapeutic engagement
  • Behavioural assessment and intervention

The experience gained at Forensicare is highly regarded and provides a strong foundation for future career progression into leadership, advanced practice, education and specialist clinical roles.

Shape a New Service. Build a Long-Term Career.

As we expand, we're not only creating new beds — we're creating opportunities.

Whether you're an experienced RMN looking for a new challenge or a senior nurse ready to take the next step into leadership, there has never been a better time to join Forensicare.

Join us at the beginning of an exciting new chapter and help shape the future of forensic mental health nursing in Australia.
