The Opportunity

Ducklings Nursery is a thriving, 35-place preschool setting and part of a well-established, family-focused group of four nurseries (spanning Nottingham and Sutton Coldfield). We also manage a successful before- and after-school provision at a local primary and junior school, giving our team the chance to be part of a vibrant, connected childcare community.

We believe that happy, supported staff create the very best experiences for children. We are seeking a caring, dedicated Qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our welcoming Sutton team and help us build warm, inspiring learning environments every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Child-Led Learning: Plan and deliver engaging, creative learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Key Person Duties: Act as a key person for a designated group of children, tracking their developmental milestones, conducting observations, and creating supportive individual learning goals.
• Parent Partnerships: Build strong, warm, and trusting relationships with parents and carers to ensure seamless communication regarding their child's daily care and progress.
• Safeguarding & Welfare: Maintain the highest standards of child protection, hygiene, and health and safety in full accordance with nursery policies and Ofsted guidelines.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely alongside colleagues to maintain a energetic, well-organized room environment, sharing ideas and supporting one another daily.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent recognised childcare qualification).
• EYFS Knowledge: Sound understanding of the EYFS framework, learning outcomes, and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Mindset: Enthusiastic, reliable, and positive with a genuine passion for supporting children to learn, grow, and thrive.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.

Pay: From £22,658.00 per year
