Hotel Indigo Gloucester is on the lookout for a dynamic Sous Chef to join us on a Full-time contract!
We are offering a salary of £38,000.00, which is £18,26 per hour - any overtime worked paid at the end of the month.

Nestled in the heart of the neighbourhood and built on the site of the White Priory, we embrace the concept of storytelling-by-design. Artefacts rescued from the site are now showcased in the Gloucester Museum, linking our hotel to this city’s multi-layered history. As Gloucester thrives with its diverse industries and culture, Hotel Indigo will become a vibrant part of the city’s evolving narrative.

As a Sous Chef, your day-to-day will be driven by our Guests needs, however you can expect to cover the following duties and responsibilities (not all encompassing) …

  • Working closely with our Restaurant and Bars manager to ensure a coordinated F&B approach
  • Being accountable for the Kitchen operation including production, cleanliness and safe systems of work in the absence of our Executive Head Chef
  • Creating and developing dishes on our menu to celebrate local cuisine and keep up to date with food trends
  • Develop and support our Chef team, training and upskilling our Chefs to ensure everyone is able to provide excellent culinary experiences for our guests

We are searching for a true service superstar, someone who thrives in providing our Guests with an excellent service throughout their stay.
To Succeed as a Sous chef you will need:

  • To have been a Senior Chef De Partie or Sous Chef within a similar sized property
  • To have completed level 3 Food Safety certification and have knowledge in HACCP
  • Knowledge of appropriate systems to support operational processes– such as Micros Simphony (or relevant POS) and Procure Wizard
  • Knowledge of appropriate working to brand standards relating to food and the ability to create and deliver appropriate menus, using appropriate suppliers and product
  • To be part of external networks and up to date with critical issues and trends in food
  • Technical skills to work on every section for every service period in the kitchen
