Job Title: Boatyard Operative

Company Overview: We are a family-owned business and we have been in the Marine Industry since 1966. Dedicated to providing exceptional service and maintaining a fleet of holiday boats and day boats. We pride ourselves on our friendly team environment and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and outgoing individual to join our team as a Boatyard Operative. This role involves working in the day-to-day running and maintenance of our fleet of boats, ensuring that all boats are prepared and ready for customer use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain day boats and holiday boats for customer use.
  • Instruct customers on the safe operation and driving of boats. (training provided)
  • Perform general boatyard duties.
  • Conduct interior and exterior maintenance, including but not limiting to polishing, painting, varnishing, and general woodwork.

Working Hours:

  • Summer Months: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, 5 days a week including Saturdays, and a minimum of 2 to 3 Sundays a month.
  • Winter Months: 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday, and 1 Saturday a month with a day off mid-week.

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
  • An interest in boating is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with woodwork is beneficial and may lead to a higher wage.
  • Reliable with a friendly personality
