Full job description

JSL Services Ltd is currently recruiting for a Security Officer: Response/Mobile to operate across Edinburgh and the Lothians. This position primarily covers night shifts, including weekends.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Controlling and monitoring access to client sites in line with assignment instructions
  • Conducting regular mobile patrols to ensure site security and identify any risks or incidents
  • Completing accurate logbooks, incident reports, and all required documentation
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with the control room and management
  • Carrying out lone worker welfare checks in accordance with company procedures
  • Attending and contributing to client toolbox talks and site briefings
  • Managing key holding duties, including secure collection, transportation, and delivery of keys
  • Issuing, receiving, and maintaining control of site documentation and permits
  • Delivering site inductions to staff, contractors, and visitors where required
  • Providing a professional and courteous point of contact for clients, site staff, and members of the public
  • Responding to alarm activations and emergency call-outs
  • Conducting site lock-ups and unlocks
  • Reporting hazards, defects, and health & safety concerns promptly
  • Assisting with incident management and escalation where necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and client-specific requirements
  • Supporting ad-hoc operational tasks as directed by management

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, and a full UK driving licence is essential. A good working knowledge of Edinburgh and the Lothians is also required.

  • A minimum of two employer references and two personal references, in line with BS7858 screening standards

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Security Guarding Licence (minimum)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
  • Willingness to undertake Key Holding training (if not already qualified)
