Full job description

SunForge helps small and medium-sized businesses modernise their websites with clear, practical, low-friction website redesign proposals.

Most business owners know their website is outdated, slow, confusing, or not converting properly. The problem is that traditional agencies often ask for too much trust upfront before showing meaningful value.

Our approach is different: we show businesses what a better website could look like before asking them to commit.

We’re hiring a part-time outbound appointment setter to contact small and medium-sized businesses, speak with decision-makers, and book qualified intro meetings for our team to discuss a potential website redesign.

This is a cold outbound B2B role. You will be contacting businesses that have not requested information from us.

IMPORTANT — Please Read

This is not an inbound customer service role.

This role involves calling businesses cold, identifying whether their current website may be a problem, and booking a short meeting to review a possible redesign.

If your experience is mainly inbound calls, warm leads, admin support, or general customer service, this role is unlikely to be a fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for making outbound calls to small and medium-sized businesses whose current websites may be outdated, slow, broken, or underperforming.

Your main goal is to book qualified meetings for our team to show the business owner a clearer, more modern website proposal.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Making high-volume outbound calls to businesses from provided lead lists
  • Getting past gatekeepers and reaching business owners, directors, managers, or marketing decision-makers
  • Delivering a confident, natural opener around improving their website presence
  • Briefly explaining why we’re calling and creating enough interest to book a short meeting
  • Qualifying prospects at a high level, including:
  • Whether they have an existing website
  • Whether the current website looks outdated or underperforms
  • Whether they rely on local search, bookings, enquiries, or online credibility
  • Whether the decision-maker is open to seeing a redesign proposal
  • Handling objections such as:
  • “We already have a website”
  • “Send me some information”
  • “We’re not interested”
  • “We already have someone who handles that”
  • “We don’t have budget”
  • “Call back later”
  • Booking qualified meetings by phone, Teams, or Google Meet
  • Updating the CRM accurately with call outcomes, notes, follow-up dates, and qualification details
  • Working to KPI targets based on dials, conversations, qualified meetings booked, and meeting attendance

This is not a design role and not a technical website-building role. Your job is to generate interest, qualify the opportunity, and book the meeting.

What We’re Looking ForNon-Negotiable Requirements

  • Proven outbound telesales or appointment-setting experience
  • Experience cold calling businesses, not just consumers
  • Confident objection handling
  • Ability to control a call and close for a meeting
  • Comfortable working to KPIs
  • Professional phone manner
  • Resilient, consistent, and able to handle rejection
  • Fluent English, spoken and written
  • CRM experience preferred

Ideal Experience

Experience in any of the following would be highly relevant:

  • B2B appointment setting
  • Digital marketing sales
  • Website design or web development sales
  • SEO or Google Ads sales
  • SaaS sales
  • Local business sales
  • Agency sales
  • Telecoms, utilities, energy, merchant services, or other outbound B2B roles

You do not need to understand web design technically, but you must be able to confidently speak to business owners about why a modern, mobile-friendly, professional website matters.

Typical Prospects You’ll Be Calling

We target small and medium-sized businesses whose websites often need improvement, including:

  • Restaurants and cafes
  • Plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, and trades
  • Cleaning companies, movers, landscapers, and local services
  • Salons, barbershops, and beauty businesses
  • Clinics, dentists, and healthcare practices
  • Small law firms and accountants
  • Gyms and fitness studios
  • Retail shops and boutiques

Common website issues include:

  • Outdated design
  • Poor mobile layout
  • Slow loading pages
  • Weak calls to action
  • Confusing navigation
  • Broken links or missing pages
  • Poor trust signals
  • No clear booking or enquiry flow

Typical Expectations

KPIs vary depending on data quality and industry, but typical expectations are:

  • Dials per day: 120–250
  • Meaningful conversations per day: 12–30
  • Focus: qualified meetings booked and attended, not just call volume

Quality matters. We are not looking for someone who books weak meetings that do not show. We want someone who can identify real opportunities and create genuine interest.

Pay, Hours & Location

  • Contract type: Self-employed / contractor position
  • Pay: £14.00 per hour, invoiced for hours worked
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00am–2:00pm or 1pm - 5pm
  • Weekly hours: 20 hours per week
  • Location: Office-based in London, NW10 9SB
  • Remote: No
  • Additional hours: Potentially available depending on performance and workload

Please note this is a contractor position. You will invoice SunForge for the hours worked.

How To Apply — Required

To be considered, your application must include answers to the following questions:

  • What industries have you done B2B cold outbound in, and for how long?
  • What are your typical KPIs? Please include dials/day, conversations/day, appointments/week, and show rate if known.
  • What are the 3 most common objections you hear on cold calls, and what are your exact responses?
  • What CRM or dialler systems have you used?
  • Is your experience mainly outbound cold calling rather than inbound/customer service?
  • Have you sold or booked meetings for websites, SEO, marketing, SaaS, or other B2B services before?
  • Are you comfortable working as a self-employed contractor and invoicing for hours worked?

Applications without these answers may not be reviewed.

Experience Required

  • Outbound cold calling: 2 years required
  • B2B appointment setting: preferred
  • CRM usage: preferred
  • Digital marketing, website, SEO, SaaS, or agency experience: preferred
