Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Assistant to join our team, going to both of our schools in SW12 and SW19. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for the children. and also preparing and cooking food on the rare occasions when our chefs are not on site. This position is perfect for someone who has a flexible approach, is resourceful, enjoys not knowing what each day might bring and loves to get involved.

Duties

  • Assist teachers in the classroom when an additional person is needed.
  • Support children who need additional help.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organised school environment.
  • Prepare educational materials and resources for lessons.
  • Assist with classroom management to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks to the classrooms.
  • Prepare the lunch / tea from time to time.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability engaging with children in the classroom in an encouraging and supportive manner.
  • Patience and empathy when working with children of varying abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage varying duties daily.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and teamwork.
