About us
Smoky Boys is a growing UK BBQ and grill brand restaurant, known for Angus beef burgers, BBQ ribs, steaks and big sharing platters. Our newest restaurant, Smoky Boys BBQ & Grill Haus, opens this November at Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester city centre. It has 128 covers and is 100% halal and alcohol-free. The restaurant is run by Aki Hospitality Ltd, an official Smoky Boys franchise partner. Find out more about us at akihospitalitygroup.com.

The role
We're looking for a hands-on General Manager to open the restaurant and run it like it's their own. You'll build and lead the team, deliver great service on every shift and own the results, supported by the directors and the Smoky Boys operations team.

What you'll do

  • Lead the opening: recruit, train and build the front-of-house team
  • Run day-to-day operations across dine-in, takeaway and delivery
  • Hit sales, labour and profit targets; manage rotas, stock, suppliers and cash
  • Keep food safety, health and safety and brand standards spot on, so the restaurant is always inspection-ready
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Head Chef so kitchen and floor run as one team
  • Look after every guest, handle feedback and build strong reviews
  • Grow the restaurant locally through delivery apps, social media and the Highcross community
  • Report weekly performance to the directors

What we're looking for

  • At least 2 years as a General Manager or Restaurant Manager in a busy restaurant (strong Assistant General Managers ready to step up are welcome)
  • A calm, hands-on leader who builds, trains and keeps great teams
  • Confident with the numbers: sales, labour %, gross profit, stock and cash
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and allergen rules, with Food Safety Level 3 or willingness to complete it before opening
  • Able to start soon (please tell us your notice period)
  • You must already have the right to work in the UK
