Looking to take your CNC machining experience off the shop floor?

Whether you're already an Estimating Engineer or an experienced CNC Machinist, Programmer, Setter or Manufacturing Engineer looking for your next challenge, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

We're looking for someone with a strong CNC machining background who understands how complex precision components are manufactured. If you've spent years machining parts, reading engineering drawings and understanding cycle times, tooling and manufacturing methods, we can help you develop into a successful Estimating Engineer.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside an experienced estimating team, you'll:

  • Produce quotations for complex precision-machined components.
  • Review engineering drawings and determine the most efficient manufacturing route.
  • Estimate machining cycle times, tooling and production costs.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
  • Support new product introduction from RFQ through to production.
  • Help secure profitable new business for a world-class precision engineering manufacturer.

What We're Looking For

The most important thing is your CNC machining knowledge.

You'll ideally have experience as a:

  • CNC Miller
  • CNC Turner
  • CNC Programmer
  • CNC Setter/Operator
  • Manufacturing Engineer
  • Production Engineer
  • Estimating Engineer

You should also have:

  • A strong understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, machining strategies and cycle times.
  • Experience machining a range of materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Estimating experience is welcome but not essential if you have the right machining background and are keen to develop into the role.

Why Join Us?

  • Salary up to £50,000
  • Monday-Friday days with an early finish every Friday
  • Opportunity to move into a specialist engineering role
  • Full support and training for candidates transitioning into estimating
  • Work on complex components for Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Marine and other high-specification industries
  • Long-term career progression within an established global engineering business

If you've built your career around CNC machining and want to use your technical knowledge in a new way without losing touch with engineering, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today for a confidential conversation.
