Job title: Part-Time Social Media Video Editor

Location: Close to Angel, Islington, London

Hours: 1 day/week in-person on a Thursday or Friday

Contract: Self-employed / freelance

Rate £22-25 per hour, depending on experience

About the role

I’m looking for a experienced social media video editor to work with me one day a week, editing short-form food and lifestyle content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.

This role would suit someone who is already confident working independently in Final Cut Pro and understands what makes short-form social content engaging. I’m looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly with my existing editing style and workflow, rather than someone who is still learning the fundamentals of editing.

You'll work with me in person one day per week from my home office near Angel, Islington.

What you’ll be doing

  • Editing short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
  • Creating engaging, well-paced edits with strong hooks
  • Adding captions, music, and simple graphics where appropriate
  • Working within an established editing style while bringing your own creative instinct
  • Organising projects and exporting content in the correct formats for each platform
  • Working through multiple pieces of content efficiently during the day

What I’m looking for

  • Strong professional proficiency in Final Cut Pro - this is essential
  • Able to edit confidently and efficiently in Final Cut Pro without training or supervision on the software
  • Demonstrable experience editing short-form social media content
  • A strong portfolio of previous work
  • Excellent instinct for pacing, hooks, music and storytelling
  • Good understanding of current Instagram Reels and TikTok editing styles and trends
  • Able to take feedback and quickly apply it consistently across future edits
  • Organised, reliable and easy to work with
  • Based in London and available to work in person one day per week
  • Self-employed and able to invoice

Bonus (not essential)

  • Experience editing food, recipe or lifestyle content
  • Basic filming skills
  • Experience working directly with creators or personal brands
